Very beat up with a wierd smell!
Ok, you really must appreciate that this bag is meant to have a used and weathered look and feel. It (mine) also has a very pungent smell inside (presumably the glued lining or tanning technique used on the leather?) my girlfriend wont let me keep it in the house!
It also comes with two tins of leather treatment (which has it's own very strong smell as well) and believe me you have to apply a tin of this stuff to the bag straight away because it is so dry and beat up. (It actually helps to hide the original pungent smell of the bag as well.) Afterwards the bag begins to look half decent again.
Overall I'm still happy with the bag because it looks the part hiking and travelling with my beat up Barbour Jacket and leather Australian Bush hat! (yep, I know) :o)
